Nas and DJ Premier reunite on their long-awaited collaboration “Define My Name”.
Over Preemo’s nostalgic production and scratches, Nasty Nas spews fiery bars highlighting his lyrical prowess and longevity.
“At twenty, I said I’d better quit by thirty Then by thirty, I thought by forty rapping is corny How wrong was I? Never would have thought at 50, new songs by Nas would be hard and live.”
“Define My Name”, which arrives on the 30th anniversary of Nas’ 1994 classic debut, Illmatic, hints at a possible collaboration album from the two legends. It marks Nas’ first new music since last years Magic 3 produced by Hit-Boy.
DJ Premier is coming on the heels of his own single “Can U Dig It?” featuring Snoop Dogg and Daz Dillinger.
